Heavy duty restraint system for field hunting situations with retrievers.  Keep your dog from breaking and flaring birds, keep them hidden, and most importantly keep them safe and not in front of the shooters.  It's impossible to watch your dog and shoot ducks, geese, and doves.  With this setup, you can focus on your target and not worry about your dog breaking.  Offered with drop only or as a combo with stake + drop.  Drop is 24", length can be customized (just message us before placing your order).  We use mainline size cable (3/16" PVC coated to 1/4", break strength rated at 4200 lbs). The optional swivel stake is 24" x 3/4".  The primary component of this setup is the quick release snap shackle (316 stainless steel), which allows you to release your dog for a retrieve while sitting or laying several feet away.  Both clips are stainless steel, and the entire setup is built extremely strong.

I ordered this to try and steady a new pup. My main focus for this season has been to build up her prey drive as much as possible. I was a little worried staking her out while hunting would put a damper on her desire but it has really been the opposite. She is now marking better than ever before and the quick release allows me to send her at the exact right time without having to pull on her leash searching for the clip and possibly distracting her from her marks.

This cable is built like a tank, I am confident it will last for years to come.

Great except the wire ring

love the concept of the release. dog has stopped pulling a lot when hooked up to it. However the ring that you tie a string to for the quick release is extremely weak and looses shape quick. Multiple times it has fallen out and the spring and center metal piece falls out and i have to take time to fix it. once i get a stronger ring to replace it i think itll be perfect.

thanks for that feedback, Chance. I was considering going back to HASS brand hardware, but after reading this review I will certainly be going back to it. The rings seemed stronger to me, and you have confirmed this. if you have any other issues, let me know and I'll replace the one you have when the new shackles come in.
